 How do I get the most life out of my SpeedThru® batteries?

  • Always leave batteries in the SpeedThru headsets until the “low battery” warning is heard.
  • Once placed in the charger, do not disturb the batteries until the charge cycle is complete (green light indicated).
  • Periodically gently clean the battery contacts with a clean pencil eraser.  (DO NOT attempt to clean the contacts in the headset.  Damage will occur.)
  • Never carry batteries in your pocket where the terminals could contact metal.  Fast discharge of this type may result in fire and possible personal injury.
  • Insure that the charger is plugged into an outlet that is powered 24/7 (not switched off at night).

What do the lights on the SpeedThru® charger indicate?

  • Red—Battery is being charged.
  • Green—Battery is fully charged.
  • Flashing Yellow—Charger needs reset or battery is bad.  Unplug power for 5 seconds and re-plug.

What if there are no lights on the SpeedThru® batttery charger when a battery is inserted?

  • Insure that the power cord is properly plugged into an outlet.
  • Insure that the power cord is properly plugged into the charger.
  • Insure that the outlet has power or plug the charger into another outlet.
  • Check that the battery is insterted correctly (contacts line up with pins in charger bay).
  • Make sure there is no food or build up on the charger contacts that would prevent the battery from making contact.

 The SpeedThru® base station has lost power. What should I do?

  • Insure that the power cord is properly plugged into an outlet.
  • Insure that the power cord is firmly inserted in the “inline” transformer.
  • Insure that the power cord is connected to the back of the Base Station.
  • Insure that the outlet used has power or plug the Base Station into another outlet.
  • Check for a tripped breaker at the breaker box in your facility.
  • Call Wentworth Technology for assistance.

How do I adjust my SpeedThru® headset for comfort?

  • The headset size can be adjusted by sliding the headband in or out of the battery side. To adjust grip of the headset on your head, twist headband in and past the opposite side as shown.

How do I adjust the volume on my SpeedThru® headset?

  • Slowly sweep your finger up or down the flat surface on the headset body to raise or lower volume as shown.

How do I page from the SpeedThru® headset?

  • Simply press and hold the smaller of the two "buttons" to speak exclusively to the other heasets on the SpeedThru system.  The headset will confirm the page press by stating "page."

How do I change my SpeedThru® headset so I can wear it on the other side of my head?

  • It's easy to wear the SpeedThru® headset on either ear, as you'd prefer! Simply swivel the microphone on the headset up and over and you'll be  all set!

How do I change the order taker headset when in Auto Hands free mode?

  • Hold down the page button and tap the center button on the headset.  The headset will confirm "Auto hands free" to verify that the headset is the new order taker.  It will automatically connect to the order post when a car arrives.

My SpeedThru® system suddenly stopped working.  What do I do?

  • Confirm the base station is on (screen illuminated).  Re-boot the base station by unplugging the power cord and plugging it back in.  Check for problems with wiring.  Call Wentworth for support.

The call buttons on all of the headsets don't work, and the vehicle detector does not light up when a car is at the order post.

  • You're base station is likely in SpeedTeam mode.  Change to Hands free or Auto Hands free.  Re-boot the base station by unplugging the power cord and plugging it back in.
